Training and Development Coordinator

Acting independently or after consulting with supervisor, develops, implements, evaluates, coordinates and manages a broad range of training activities related to PC skills, agent continuing education, self-paced instruction, workshops and self-development skills modules. Provides technical and/or non-technical presentation support to department staff and outside trainers as needed. Manages other departmental projects as assigned by supervisor. Incumbents in this position will devote a majority of their time to select responsibilities and serve as a backup on responsibilities they perform infrequently. The assigned priorities will vary by specific area.

Position Requirements

Administers agent continuing education programs, including securing state approval for programs, providing support services for faculty, and acting as liaison between Foremost agents and Michigan Insurance Department. Assures that courses meet state standards. Coordinates with Agency Services and Field Marketing as necessary. Plans, schedules, and administers training and development of company employees, in concert with other areas within the company, utilizing Registrar or other company approved tools. Coordinates all aspects of employees registration for in-house classes as well as for state tests administered by third party vendors. Also, communicates that information to employees, supervisors and other facilitators on an as needed basis. Assists instructors in obtaining and preparing instructional materials and in conducting educational sessions. Researches, evaluates, recommends and administers self-paced insurance courses, IIA/CPCU education programs and other self-development courses and materials. Assists department head in the budgeting process: compiles data, prepares reports and distributes them to department members and submits budget to corporate accounting. Assists department head with the monitoring and controlling of departmental expenses.

Excellent written and verbal skills. Ability to multi-task in a high energy and fast paced environment.

Physical Actions

Required job duties are essentially sedentary work consisting of occasional walking, standing and lifting and/or carrying 10 lbs. maximum, and seeing.

Physical Environment

Required job duties are normally performed in a climate controlled office environment.

Education Requirements

4-year degree or 2 year with Continuing Education.

Experience Requirements

2 or more years in an administrative/program coordination capacity.

Special Skills Requirements

Ability to utilize keyboard.
