Investigates, determines liability, confirms coverage, establishes damages, and negotiates settlement of claims.
Position Requirements
Conducts investigation on assigned cases, confirms coverage, determinesliability, identifies subrogation rights, establishes damages, preparesfor arbitration, reports status, and negotiates settlement (hasauthority to make payment of assigned claims within prescribed limits).Adjusts all types of claims.Inspects damaged property and vehicles, and determines claims relateddamage.Determines and reports on subrogation potential.Initiates the sale of salvage vehicles, personal property, andmiscellaneous salvage items.Reports theft, fraud, and arson losses as required to state and industryagencies.Assists and trains agents under the Agency Claims Training Program(includes assisting in the development of proper repair facilities).Performs most duties on an individual basis, and work has a directbearing on Management results.Represents the Company from a public relations standpoint and mustconduct oneself as a member of Management at all times.Contacts are a major part of activity and include policyholders,claimants, agents, witnesses, repair facilities, contractors, police andfire departments, state and county fraud and arson personnel, specialinvestigators, attorneys, expert witnesses, members of the medicalprofession and all other persons incident to the investigation andprocessing of claims.Performs other duties as assigned.
