Obtains loss reports primarily through live telephone contacts withpolicyholders, claimants, and agents; advises insureds/claimants ofclaims process and refers loss reports to supervisors for fieldassignments; may handle minor coverage issues and resolve minorcomplaints which arise during claims handling process; otherresponsibilities include coverage verification, CARE coding, makingDrive-In appointments for insureds/claimants, and locating vehicles.May also perform a variety of clerical duties as assigned by theimmediate supervisor or manager which could include handling mail, phonecalls, filing, claims coding, processing and statisticalresponsibilities.
Position Requirements
Obtains loss reports from agents, insureds, and claimants and entersinto FACTS. Makes assignments under the direction of the CSC/BCOmanagement.Gathers missing information on reported losses and verifies accuracywith insureds or claimants.Verifies coverage from FACTS/Network and microfiche and/or contacts withRegional Office, agents, or policyholders.Communicates and expedites claims processing procedures with insureds,claimants, and repair facilities; may resolve minor service complaintswhen the Claims Representative is unavailable.Codes loss reports for accident description to assure proper CAREreferrals and correct rating of policies.Makes appointments with insureds and claimants for drive-in vehicleinspections.Locates inoperable cars and annotates FACTS loss report or investigationlog.Refers loss reports to supervisors for field assignments.May perform a variety of clerical duties as assigned by the immediatesupervisor or manager which could include handling mail, phone calls,filing, claims coding, processing and statistical responsibilities.Performs other duties as assigned.
