A resident/non-resident licensed insurance agent responsible foranalyzing prospect needs, recommending appropriate coverage and limits,quoting premium, and selling Foremost Specialty Lines products in allstates in which Foremost conducts business.

Position Requirements

Works with one or more specialty lines product(s) and supporting direct marketing, policy processing, underwriting, producer, claims, and billing systems. Responsible for analyzing prospect’s needs,recommending appropriate coverage and policy limits. Completes outboundcalls to attain quote conversions and new business solicitation.Provides outbound re-quotes. Also handles quote requests via theInternet. Sets a professional example by maintaining and applying athorough, up-to-date, working knowledge of established workflow andproduct/underwriting procedures, methods, account contract requirementsregulatory requirements, and state-by-state coverage variations as wellas product variations.Responds quickly and appropriately to customer objections. Recognizesbuying signals. Knows and applies several different closing techniques.Performs underwriting functions to determine risk acceptability.Functions include accepting, modifying or declining presented risk basedon underwriting guidelines and bulletins. Ensures the risk is writtenunder the correct program. Identifies issues and seeks assistance ofline underwriting as needed.Maintains sales call effectiveness and efficiency through scheduleadherence, talk time, relationship building, etc.Builds personal skill set by participating in internal insurance,professional sales, or other job- related courses.Promotes safety at all times and complies with safety/ergonomicstandards as outlined in relevant company published manuals.Performs other duties as assigned.

Preferred Skills and Abilities

** Must be able to type 25WPM and pass LEAP Assessment
** Strong computer skills and technical skills needed
** Self Motivated and able to problem solve.
** Call center environment (strong phone etiquette is needed and strong sales & customer service is required.
** Must be able to work from 8am to 5pm M-F the first 8-12 weeks for training & then work any shift from 7:00am to 10:30pm

Physical Actions

Required job duties are essentially sedentary work consisting of occasional walking, standing and lifting and/or carrying 10-lbs. maximum and seeing.

Physical Environment

Required job duties are normally performed in a climate-controlled office environment.

Education Requirements

High school degree or equivalent.
**Internal applicants must have a P&C License to be considered
**External applicants must obtain their P&C License within 20 days of hire

Experience Requirements

Two years sales experience. Resident agent license and non-residentagent license required in all states in which Foremost conductsbusiness.
