Director-Forecasting and Expense Tracking

-Develop and maintain an accurate demand plan/forecast by monitoring policy sales by media channel, applying response curves, trends, seasonality and estimated effects of anticipated product revisions to predict future policy sales.
-Direct and develop the creation and utilization of forecasting methods (statistical models and software tools) to deliver and monitor forecast accuracy reports, ensuring the achievement of forecast performance within standards. Provide feedback to drive continuous improvement.

Position Requirements

•Determine root cause of forecast variances and communicate results. Be able to explain forecast performance measures and results on request.
•Consult with internal, cross-functional clients (e.g., product managers, media managers, etc) at any level of organization (e.g., Officer to Manager) to incorporate product and or marketing changes into the forecast projection.
•Develop call forecast models to help call center management properly predict expected call volumes based on anticipated media spend.
•Build linear optimization models to determine the appropriate mix of media spend by channel (i.e. TV, direct mail, Internet) to further improve efficiencies in acquisition cost.
•Apply scenario-based forecasting techniques (i.e. monte carlo) to predict policy sales under varying circumstances or market conditions.
•Participate in the financial budgeting process.
•Oversee and explain variances in marketing expenses. Manage an analyst responsible for expense tracking and general ledger allocations.

•Minimum of 6 years experience in forecasting/demand planning, preferably in marketing and financial services.

Education Requirements

•A Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Finance, Engineering, Economics or a related field is required. MBA or MS degree is highly preferred.

Experience Requirements

•Minimum of 6 years experience in forecasting/demand planning, preferably in marketing and financial services.

Special Skills Requirements

•Strong technical/analytic skills and knowledge of forecasting and demand planning best practices.
•Strong consultative skills. Experience in dealing with non-technical associates to draw out and understand their business challenges and then integrate this learning with analytical/statistical expertise.
•Ability to influence, compromise and persuade at high levels cross functionally (sales, marketing and finance), communicate effectively and be an agent for change.
•Extensive hands on knowledge in Microsoft Office applications, with advanced capabilities in Excel.
•Experience using statistical modeling applications (SAS preferred).
•Strong attention to detail and process.
•Strong written and verbal communication skills.
•Ability to balance high quality standards with schedule pressures.
•Experience working in a team environment and as an individual contributor.
•Able to take direction and work independently towards a goal.
•Ability to multi-task effectively.
•Very attentive to detail and keeps big picture in mind.
