Life Marketing Manager - Advanced Markets

Plans, directs, develops, and coordinates life, and related,insurance marketing and sales programs and activities to accomplish life sales goals established for the Farmers Life organization, and to attain profitable growth and market penetration,and contributes to the attainment of overall company objectives. Uses technical knowledge to contribute to the successful marketing of business that the unit supports relating to estate, business, executive benefit, and financial planning cases.

Position Requirements

Plans and assists in the communications, sales support, research, and sales promotion efforts to develop markets and stimulate sales growth for insurance related products. Interface with Agency units and internal consultants to provide case illustration and consultation, strategy, and sales tactics. Develops plans and programs for life seminars and workshops. Responsible for input to the training department to develop life training and education material. Develops and recommends training, policies, programs, and practices to ensure the development of and adequate supply of trained life sales personnel. Makes regular use of all functional and industry research. Cooperates with other functions, and represents the function on numerous committees culminating in setting corporate policy and objectives. Supports development of market development, product introduction, and marketing kits to be published by Corporate Communications. Assists in the development of life sales aids, agency development, Achievement Club promotions, and advertising with Farmers Advertising, Sales, and Agencies departments. Works to support accomplishment of Company and state life sales objectives. Establishes and maintains relationships of guidance and indirect supervision of Life Specialists and Representatives to achieve life sales objectives. Plans, develops, recommends, and coordinates new programs and products for expansion into additional and alternative distribution channels for the purposes of increasing sales. Operates function and achieves results within approved budget.

Preferred Skills and Abilities

Demonstrated expertise in taxation, complex estate, business and financial planning cases. Must have excellent organizational, analytical/problem solving, presentation, and oral and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively advocate and “sell” a position. Must possess advanced PC skills with the ability to maintain a high degree of accuracy and pay strict attention to detail. Must be able to maintain a high degree of confidentiality

Physical Actions

Required job duties are essentially sedentary work consisting of occasional walking, standing and lifting and/or carrying 10lbs. maximum, and seeing.

Physical Environment

Required job duties are normally performed in a climate-controlled office environment.

Education Requirements

Four year college degree, law degree (J.D. or L.L.B.) or a licensed CPA and attainment of, or actively pursuing CLU, ChFC, CFP, FLMI, or other industry designations preferred. May require NASD registration/licensing.

Experience Requirements

7 - 10 Years, demonstrated expertise in taxation, complex estate, business and financial planning cases.
