Inspects damaged vehicles and prepares itemized damage appraisals outlining cost of parts, materials, and labor necessary to restore vehicle to pre-damage condition. Determines if vehicle damages are enough to constitute a total loss.
Position Requirements
Appraises/inspects damaged vehicles and prepares itemized damage appraisals outlining cost of parts, materials, and labor necessary to restore vehicle to pre-damage condition.
Secures and negotiates prices with repair facilities.
Estimates salvage values and arranges for the disposal of salvage when necessary.
Conducts training seminars when needed.
Performs other related duties/tasks as necessary.

Preferred Skills and Abilities
ICAR/ASE Certification preferred. Knowledge of federal, state and local laws and regulations regarding auto damage apraisals and reparirs. High degree of technical knowledge regarding auto repair techniques.
Auto appraisal damage license in NYrequired.
Physical Actions
This position requires travel to Brooklyn and Staten Island on a daily basis.

Experience Requirements
Two (2) years of automobile damage appraisal experience
Special Skills Requirements
Proficient working knowledge of automobile repair, appraisal, preparing estimates, determining salvage values, etc
