-Lead groups of business users and developers in the logical design of relational databases and to provide high-level consultation to the applications staff to help identify and analyze complex business requirements.
-Interact with senior level business clients; formulate database development strategies to support business requirements.
-Evaluate, select and implement CASE tools for developing and maintaining ERDs (Entity Relationship Diagram).
Position Requirements
-Provide consultation to the applications staff in the design of new databases.
-Define and analyze data requirements for business clients’ database designs. Develop a strategy to ensure that resulting products meet clients’ needs. Build schemas and define linkages of records from which the Database administrators implement database changes.
-Ensure that the database, data dictionary and data requirement information are centrally controlled.
-Ensure that (global) applications access the appropriate database(s) for calculations and other processes.
-Provide standards, policies and procedures for the definition and documentation of all entity types.
-Review and approve specifications to new and existing databases.
-Handle moderate to complex problem resolution without escalation and with minimal supervision. May instruct, direct and check the work of less experienced staff.
-Provide expertise in database technologies and methodologies and data management and database administration support, consultation and technical guidance.
-Support the design of high performance database architectures based on the model that best utilizes emerging technology to permit database communication and data sharing.
-Manage, as assigned, the design, development, implementation, monitoring and maintenance of new databases and revisions to existing databases and develop standards and procedures to maximize performance, data integrity and recoverability.

Education Requirements
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Experience Requirements
-5-7 years experience.
-Proficient knowledge of a full range of database technology and alternatives and all related tools.
-Proficient in data modeling and large scale relational databases.
-Experience reviewing and analyzing business requirements for modifications to existing or development of new systems.
Special Skills Requirements
-Strong knowledge of Oracle.
