Manages and controls the development, testing and implementation of systems; collaborates with upper management to develop detailed project plans, proposals and justification. Reviews the work of junior staff to ensure that system requirements and installation objectives are consistently being met. Analyzes and evaluates existing computerized systems, processes and procedures for the company to improve efficiency; conducts detailed systems studies of various company operations where problems in methods, practices and procedures exist in order to recommend, develop and implement more efficient manual or computerized systems.
Position Requirements
Participates in strategic, operational, and tactical planning.Designs and documents complex business processes.Utilizes in-depth business or technical knowledge in consultation with management on technical issues.Develops, evaluates, recommends, installs, maintains and supports computer/network hardware and/or logical security activities, including software.Participates in decision-making with management who has policy-making authority.May act as lead person who provides specialized expertise and guidance.Manages tactical technical activities.Leads large and/or complex projects.Performs other duties as assigned.Additional duties in one of the following technical areas: Technical Development Role Utilizes traditional application system development methodologies to help functional users or technical employees develop and document system specifications and requirements.Uses knowledge in system development methodology, structured development techniques, system specification writing, application test plans, procedure writing, data flow diagramming, lower CASE tool and logical database design to complete projects.Technical Architecture RoleDevelops analysis and design deliverables involving the implementation of single, complex, applications and technical platforms.Is a technical lead on single application projects.Uses knowledge in system development methodology, structured development techniques, system specification writing, application test plans, procedure writing, data flow diagramming, lower CASE tool, and logical database design to complete projects.Business Architecture RoleHas responsibility to specify user requirements (external functional specs) within a project for multiple, highly integrated applications.This activity applies business sector knowledge to help customers solve business problems with appropriate technology.Has planning and control responsibility, has business sector functional knowledge, and uses technology and project management experience to complete projects.
