21C - Marketing Director-Traditional Media

Oversees the media process for offline marketing activities, including strategic planning, budget development/control and media management.

Position Requirements

1.

25%

Develops strategic/tactical media plans including expected outcomes, milestones and targets, analyzes results of current media efforts to identify issues, and facilitate/accelerate changes to ensure quote volume and new policy acquisition growth.
2. 25% Makes key decisions on spending levels, markets, key codes, creative outcomes, toll frees, etc. Evaluates various media, their target audiences, cost and response rates, and selects/manages media to ensure new business revenues exceed media expenditures. Makes decisions regarding the shifting of media spend to more cost-efficient areas based on daily new business results.

3. 15% Manages relationship with the traditional media agency to ensure the timely development and execution of media plans. Works closely with the internal digital media manager to align all media strategies and tactics across various media channels.

4. 15% Oversees the preparation and delivery of weekly outcome reports that include actions taken and results and the performance of different creative, networks, etc. Provides forward looking financial assumptions for each medium to Marketing Management and the Analytics group on a monthly and quarterly basis.

5. 5% Meets with support area (e.g., IT, Telecom, Operations, etc.) management to provide updates, secure their commitment to providing effective service, and ensure that proper keycoding is in place to accurately track results.
6. 5% Meets with Marketing, Product Management and other senior management on a quarterly basis to provide media updates and improve their understanding of the effectiveness of various media buying strategies.

Performs all duties inherent in a managerial role. Ensures effective staff training/cross training, interviews candidates for employment, evaluates staff performance, and recommends hirings, promotions, salary and disciplinary actions as appropriate.

Education Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing or related field.

Experience Requirements

10 years Business experience managing Direct Response Media for national/local TV, preferably in an insurance environment. Experience working with and managing media agency relationships.

Special Skills Requirements

Knowledge of marketing principals/techniques, marketing communication and media.
Advanced
