Originates, prepares, develops and completes advertising programs and materials and executes the National, Co-Operative and Advertising-Aid programs in accordance with our goals and objectives.
Position Requirements
Supervises, coordinates and manages advertising programs with all outside agencies, advertising suppliers, and the field (Agents, District Managers, State Executives, Division Marketing Managers, Marketing Specialists).
Reviews and obtains internal approval of advertising programs and materials with appropriate departments including Finance, Legal, Claims, Emerging Markets, Life, Underwriting, etc.
Researches, establishes, administers, evaluates and recommends changes in the Co-Operative and Advertising-Aid Programs. Part of this research may include analysis of qualitative data and syndicated research to develop appropriate media targets, as well as coordinating the purchase, creative, trafficking, and proof of performance across the media outlets.
Develops appropriate creative messages consistent with public image and brand compliance objectives in all markets of the operating territory.
Creates, manages and implements an ongoing market-by-market advertising research program to ensure measurable advertising results.
Creates advertising packages and presents plan and rationale to the state offices and Agency Force distinct co-operative advertising programs in conjunction with outside agencies and suppliers of advertising services.
Evaluates, manages, recommends and implements market-by-market media plans to ensure effective and economic delivery of the Farmers Insurance Group of Companies' advertising message.
Maintains awareness of advertising industry trends.
Manages, implements and evaluates aspects of our marketing and advertising programs including the National Yellow Page, Promotional, Lead, ePrint, Magazine, Newspaper, TV, Cable, Radio, Broadcast, Online, Advertising Specialty, (800) FARMERS, Office and Highways Signs programs as well as other programs that might be created throughout the year to grow our exposure in chosen markets.
Manages the creation, production and placement of all advertising materials including television, radio, newspaper and magazine advertisements.
Provides guidance and education to appropriate personnel relative to advertising procedures and practices. Creates positive and motivational energy in both individuals and group. Supports team development and assist employees to optimize team performance. Demonstrates a commitment to changing environment, results, collaboration, customer, people, interpersonal skills, strategy, innovation, compliance and integrity.
Maintains and updates company advertising procedures and guides including Agent, District Manager Guides and Regional Sales Procedure Manual.
Represents the Farmers Insurance Group to outside suppliers of advertising services.
Evaluates and recommends additions, amendments and deletion of all advertising programs.
Promotes safety at all times and complies with safety/ergonomic standards as outlined in relevant company published manuals.
Performs other duties as assigned. Some administrative set up and travel may be required.
Preferred Skills and Abilities
-A degree in Media or related field is highly preferred. -Candidates that do not meet the experience requirements will be considered. -Preferred skills in excel, powerpoint, word, publisher, and qualitative research tools such as Scarborough, media buying systems, media planning databases, IMS tools and competitive research such as TNS.
Physical Actions
Required job duties are essentially sedentary work consisting of occasional walking, standing and lifting and/or carrying 20 lbs. maximum and seeing.
Physical Environment
Required job duties are normally performed in a climate-controlled office environment, however some exposure to uncontrollable outside environmental conditions at events that may require working in an outdoor environment; and travel (occasional overnight) via automobile and/or commercial transportation.
Education Requirements
Four-year college degree.
Experience Requirements
Minimum of four years experience in media related industry work such as media planning, media buying, insurance sales, sales management, advertising, or marketing.
Special Skills Requirements
